October deals

 October is popular time of year for many reason. For one it's the perfect time of year for family sessions. 

The colours are just beyond beautiful, the outfits can be super cute, the weather is cooler. Great for family and maternity sessions.

It's also just enough time before Christmas to start thinking about Christmas gifts, be it a framed family portrait for the grandparents or create a boudoir album for that special someone. 

And of course it's Halloween... only one of the best holidays on our yearly calendar. 


So what is happening at Icing Sugar Photography this month in honor of all this awesomeness? Well... in short; a lot! I've got a few different specials for you this season. 

First up, on the 16th and 17th, we are celebrating fall at Woodend conservation area with Fall Mini sessions. These sessions are great for family, maternity, children and engagement sessions and this weekend should be the peak of all those stunning fall colours! Woodend has an amazing fall aesthetic and works great for any time of day. These sessions are $65 with 4 digital images. There are still some time slots open, especially on the Friday. Boudoir photos are one of my favorite gifts for both yourself and your significant other. And the holidays are right around the corner. This is the perfect time to have a boudoir session, have the photos edit and order any photo gifts you may want to include and have everything ready for Christmas. On the 19th, I am holding boudoir minis in the studio. These will be 20 minute session on a soft white bed set up, these will include 7 digital retouched images for $150. As this is an in studio session, sessions are not completely booked back to back and instead time is set in between to allow for ample cleaning. Bedding is cleaned with a steam cleaner in between sessions as well.

On Thursday the 22nd, we are revisiting baby minis. I know there are a lot of mommas out there who missed out on their newborn photos due to the lock down. This is a great chance to get those updated images of your baby during those special milestones. Great for 3, 6  and 9 month milestones. These will be done on an adorable bed set up in studio. $90 includes 5 digital images for $90. Like the boudoir minis, sessions are booked with cleaning gaps in between them, including steam cleaning of fabrics.

Halloween is looking a little different this year and trick or treating may not happen. Which is sad because Halloween had the makings of a great one this year. A full moon, a weekend. Like great set up! So because Halloween is looking different, I'm doing things differently with Halloween this year. This year, Halloween minis will not be held in studio but rather are being held at one of Niagara's most haunted areas, Screaming Tunnels. I will also have goodie bags with pre wrapped candies for the kids. These are great for anyone who loves Halloween! $70 with 4 digital images.

Paint War Engagement Session

My best friend Ashlee is getting married in October. She and her girlfriend wanted some engagement photos done for their wedding website. Being my best friend I wanted to do something very special and unique for her photos. I have seen some very cute engagement sessions done with chalk fights. I decide to kick it up a notch. Why not switch out chalk for paint! Brighter colors, high energy and loads of fun, just like my friend and her girlfriend. We picked up some paint and water guns from the dollar store and found an awesome location for our shoot. The result was awesome! Pops of bright color, boisterous zeal and above all, highly entertaining! Choosing Your Location, Fall Addition

It's that time of year again where the weather changes and vibrant hues surround us. So looking for a place to take photos may be different than a place in the summer or winter that you enjoyed. Choosing a location that best suits you and your comfort level is important. It is good to pick somewhere that will make your session memorable and pleasing for you. Find a place that fits well with your personality and gets you to enjoy your experience. Some of my favorite places in the Fall time are Morningstar Mill, Malcolmson Eco Park both in St Catharines. As well as Firemans Park in Niagara Falls, McFarland House in Niagara on the Lake, and Balls Falls in Vineland.  Morningstar Mills is a heritage site located at Decew Falls. This site features a beautiful working mill rebuilt in 1872 and is surrounded with trees and water. It is a good naturalistic place to go, especially in the fall time when there are numerous colors all around you and a beautifully built mill overlooking some wate
