Choosing Your Location, Fall Addition

It's that time of year again where the weather changes and vibrant hues surround us. So looking for a place to take photos may be different than a place in the summer or winter that you enjoyed. Choosing a location that best suits you and your comfort level is important. It is good to pick somewhere that will make your session memorable and pleasing for you. Find a place that fits well with your personality and gets you to enjoy your experience. Some of my favorite places in the Fall time are Morningstar Mill, Malcolmson Eco Park both in St Catharines. As well as Firemans Park in Niagara Falls, McFarland House in Niagara on the Lake, and Balls Falls in Vineland.  Morningstar Mills is a heritage site located at Decew Falls. This site features a beautiful working mill rebuilt in 1872 and is surrounded with trees and water. It is a good naturalistic place to go, especially in the fall time when there are numerous colors all around you and a beautifully built mill overlooking some wate

Butterfly baby bump

This time of year it can be hard to find locations outside of the studio that work really well for any session. Mandy wanted something bright and vibrant in colour for her maternity session. I suggested the Butterfly conservatory. It is designed to look like a bright, sunny day, it's warm and dry and the plants make for a stunning backdrop. And it's a good thing we choose this place, as with wind chill, the day of our session was a very chilly one! While Mandy did have her own gown, we also used one I offer in the studio as well (the blue gown) and the both looked amazing against the lush plants. Did you know that a butterfly is symbolic for a beautiful transformation? Seems rather fitting for a maternity session! Here are some of my favorite from our session! Is a boudoir session right for you?

Ladies, I'm about to let you in on something. Something you have probably told yourselves isn't true in the past. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL! We have those moments where we f stare at ourselves in the mirror, examining every single tiny detail about ourselves and we judge and criticize and  often tell ourselves some pretty harsh and ugly things. We may not do this every day, or FEEL this way every day, or every week for that matter. But at some point we have all been there. Felt so ugly it becomes the one thing we believe about ourselves for a while. There are some many amazing, beautiful, stunning women out there who don't feel beautiful. Too many woman have self image problem and lack confidence in the way they look. And I think that is a damn shame! The thing about women is we are all beautiful and should beautiful being who we are. That is one of the reasons I love boudoir so much! Boudoir and glamour sessions have the ability to make someone feel amazing about how

Frequently Asked Questions about Boudoir.

Boudoir.  It's exciting It's inciting And it's confusing and intimating all at the same time!  If you are thinking about a boudoir I'm sure you have some pretty big questions on the top of your head. That's fine. I mean it's not everyday you are standing half naked in front of a perfect stranger.  So you have questions... I've got answers. Q: Boudoir. Pornography. What’s the difference? A: Well for starters Boudoir is suggestive, while porn is... well you know. And you don’t have to be complete nude or revel anything at all when it comes to boudoir photographs. One of the most important things about being sexy is being confident. If you feel that way wearing jeans, by all means, wear jeans! Or a button down men’s dress shirt. Sure why not? Classy, suggestive, and flirty. Q: Can you Photoshop my images? A: If you would like to have say, stretch marks, a scar, that unwanted, embarrassing tattoo from when you were 16

Preparing for you Autumn Sessions: 7 tips

Autumn is one of the most popular times of year for a variety of sessions, for obvious reasons. I mean, how can you not enjoy those lovely pops of colours. It's an amazing time as you get to really play up your wardrobe and mix and match with some awesome accessories for that crisp weather. I want you to make the most out of your session and here are some great tips on how to do so. 1) Make use of accessories and clothing that play up the "fall" feeling. For example, leather boots, cable knit scarves and comfy cardigans look amazing on the whole family and can really bring a picture to life. Tip: neutrals do really well in the fall against all that foliage.  2)Timing is everything. Start paying attention to that shift in weather as summer melts into fall. Once the leaves start changing, call up your photographer and book a session. I know that I like to plan fall sessions, so chances are I've got a session ready for you.Typically October is the perfect tim
