Is a boudoir session right for you?

Ladies, I'm about to let you in on something.

Something you have probably told yourselves isn't true in the past.

YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!

We have those moments where we f stare at ourselves in the mirror, examining every single tiny detail about ourselves and we judge and criticize and  often tell ourselves some pretty harsh and ugly things.

We may not do this every day, or FEEL this way every day, or every week for that matter. But at some point we have all been there. Felt so ugly it becomes the one thing we believe about ourselves for a while.

There are some many amazing, beautiful, stunning women out there who don't feel beautiful. Too many woman have self image problem and lack confidence in the way they look. And I think that is a damn shame! The thing about women is we are all beautiful and should beautiful being who we are. That is one of the reasons I love boudoir so much! Boudoir and glamour sessions have the ability to make someone feel amazing about how they look. It doesn't matter your shape, size, height, skin colour or age; boudoir shoots are for everyone! Beauty doesn't discriminate. I truly believe that at some point in your life time, all woman should have the experience of a boudoir session.
I have seen girls leave the studio in tears over how beautiful they feel afterwards, gotten messages weeks later from woman talking about how they still have a bounce in their step. And speaking from personal experience, I can honestly tell you that a boudoir session is one of the empowering things I have ever done for myself.

Now I'm sure you are sitting there talking yourself out of a session. You are probably making a list of the parts of your body you don't like!

DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT!

We ALL have parts of ourselves we may not be too happy with. I call them 'worry areas' NOT problem areas. Because our bodies are not problems. These areas simply areas of your body you have decided to worry about. And I get it. A professional will be able to pose you so attention is pulled away from areas and draw the eye towards areas you may find more flattering about yourself.
And at the end of the day, of course, there is Photoshop.
I, personally, won't go over board on the Photoshop. After all, we want these photos to still look like you! If you have a major zit, I can zap it. You have a tattoo with the name of your first boyfriend, I can remove it.

Now what are some reasons you might want to have a boudoir session? There are many! Partake in a boudoir or glamour session if...

1) You want to reward yourself for transforming your body after having a baby or after athletic training.

2) Boost self confidence.

3) a Sexy, unique and personal gift for your loved one.

4) (and this one is my personal favorite) You are only young once, so have some photos so when you are 80 year old you can look back and say 'DAMN! I was a hottie!"

5) Do something for yourself for a change. These sessions are fun and you feel like a queen!

If you have any other questions don't hessite to ask! Of course one of the most important things to remember when it comes to boudoir sessions, is that you feel comfortable and confident! So be sure to pick a photographer that is right for you and you are comfortable with.

Frequently Asked Questions about Boudoir.

Boudoir.  It's exciting It's inciting And it's confusing and intimating all at the same time!  If you are thinking about a boudoir I'm sure you have some pretty big questions on the top of your head. That's fine. I mean it's not everyday you are standing half naked in front of a perfect stranger.  So you have questions... I've got answers. Q: Boudoir. Pornography. What’s the difference? A: Well for starters Boudoir is suggestive, while porn is... well you know. And you don’t have to be complete nude or revel anything at all when it comes to boudoir photographs. One of the most important things about being sexy is being confident. If you feel that way wearing jeans, by all means, wear jeans! Or a button down men’s dress shirt. Sure why not? Classy, suggestive, and flirty. Q: Can you Photoshop my images? A: If you would like to have say, stretch marks, a scar, that unwanted, embarrassing tattoo from when you were 16

Choosing Your Location, Fall Addition

It's that time of year again where the weather changes and vibrant hues surround us. So looking for a place to take photos may be different than a place in the summer or winter that you enjoyed. Choosing a location that best suits you and your comfort level is important. It is good to pick somewhere that will make your session memorable and pleasing for you. Find a place that fits well with your personality and gets you to enjoy your experience. Some of my favorite places in the Fall time are Morningstar Mill, Malcolmson Eco Park both in St Catharines. As well as Firemans Park in Niagara Falls, McFarland House in Niagara on the Lake, and Balls Falls in Vineland.  Morningstar Mills is a heritage site located at Decew Falls. This site features a beautiful working mill rebuilt in 1872 and is surrounded with trees and water. It is a good naturalistic place to go, especially in the fall time when there are numerous colors all around you and a beautifully built mill overlooking some wate

Paint War Engagement Session

My best friend Ashlee is getting married in October. She and her girlfriend wanted some engagement photos done for their wedding website. Being my best friend I wanted to do something very special and unique for her photos. I have seen some very cute engagement sessions done with chalk fights. I decide to kick it up a notch. Why not switch out chalk for paint! Brighter colors, high energy and loads of fun, just like my friend and her girlfriend. We picked up some paint and water guns from the dollar store and found an awesome location for our shoot. The result was awesome! Pops of bright color, boisterous zeal and above all, highly entertaining! Made me kind of wish I had partaken in the fun myself, beyond the camera.   I love experimenting with different concepts and different ideas when it comes to my photography. I am so thankful to have such great friends who are willing be victims for my wild photographic endeavors. I am also so happy to have to gotten s
