Slacker

Yes I know what you are going to say and its true. I have neglected my blog over the past several months And for that I apologize/ But boy have they been a fun few! I have had some great shoots and some interesting developments. I'm gonna try to get all the news in, in this one post, so please bare with me if I miss something.

For starters...
Dawn and Kurtien were married on a beautiful fall day. The colours were stunning and the air was crisp but not too cool. Perfect wedding weather! And their wedding itself was just as beautiful as the weather. I loved how mixed their different nationalities into their wedding. Canada meets Trinidad. From the dresses to the cake to the candy bar, everything tied in the beautiful diversity of this couple. I loved that special touch to the day.

I shot the beautiful wedding of Shelli and Kyle. Shelli is such a sweet girl and her gown was so beautiful and fitting for her. She hand made all her bouquets and boutonnieres creating a unique patchwork fabric feel to the day which was lovely. John Michael's Hall has some of the most beautiful lighting I have ever come across for the specialty dances. There are pictures below to show what I'm talking about.

I have also done a few engagement photos. A beautiful winter scene for my 2015 couple Jessica and Tyson. It was one of the coldest and windiest days of this winter but we made it work. Hopefully for their wedding next February its not as cold and bitter. In the end we took our session indoors to one of the near by hotels. The effect was still beautiful. We will be shooting their wedding photos in the same location which will be a nice way to tie everything together!

Some very adorable infant photos were taken just in time for Christmas, so naturally I went with a Christmas theme for photographing the 7 day old Ryder. He was also the poster child for emailed Christmas cards to clients. And taboot, he hardly cried at all. What a good little baby!

Speaking of babies January was Maternity month! With three back to back shoots! Two of which were for long time friends of mine. Both girls, Tara and Marie had their families join them for these sentimental images. Baby bumps everywhere. I love this as infant sessions is something I would like expand in.

I also hope to expand my boudoir portfolio. As these images are very intimate and private for most of my clients if isn't too often that I find someone willing to let me use their images for my online portfolio. Seeing as boudoir is one of my specialities I am trying to build public images. My long time friend and model Amanda Louise offered to help me. We had a great afternoon shooting both in doors and outdoors. She was even bold enough to brave the cold weather and pose on the beach for me on a very chilli day!

I was also offered a position with Gdouglas associates for my event photography as well as partook in Pampering Fest in Beamsville as a vendor.

Below are some of the images from these shoots. For more please visit my facebook page at

Frequently Asked Questions about Boudoir.

Boudoir.  It's exciting It's inciting And it's confusing and intimating all at the same time!  If you are thinking about a boudoir I'm sure you have some pretty big questions on the top of your head. That's fine. I mean it's not everyday you are standing half naked in front of a perfect stranger.  So you have questions... I've got answers. Q: Boudoir. Pornography. What’s the difference? A: Well for starters Boudoir is suggestive, while porn is... well you know. And you don’t have to be complete nude or revel anything at all when it comes to boudoir photographs. One of the most important things about being sexy is being confident. If you feel that way wearing jeans, by all means, wear jeans! Or a button down men’s dress shirt. Sure why not? Classy, suggestive, and flirty. Q: Can you Photoshop my images? A: If you would like to have say, stretch marks, a scar, that unwanted, embarrassing tattoo from when you were 16...

Bohemian Beach Goddess

A while back, when the weather was just starting to get nice again I did a shoot with the beautiful Malissa Otting. Malissa came to me with this great idea of bohemian beach style photo session. Of course I was on board. No normally I do shoots with MUA Griffin Shields, however the date and time of this shoot Griffin was unavailable so I worked with up and coming mua Sarah Stechyshyn. When I was first starting out Sarah was one of my very first models. And that is one thing I love about my job, the wonderful people you and the long term friendships you create along the way. We meet Malissa at her apartment for hair, make up and wardrobe. The beach we shot at was just a ways down the street from there. The beach itself was pretty cool. It was quiet with a small run off that trailed into the water. The remains of what were once board walks and boating docks protruded from the sand and water, parts of the wood had small plants growing from them. The sand was lined with trees and shrubs....

Choosing Your Location, Fall Addition

It's that time of year again where the weather changes and vibrant hues surround us. So looking for a place to take photos may be different than a place in the summer or winter that you enjoyed. Choosing a location that best suits you and your comfort level is important. It is good to pick somewhere that will make your session memorable and pleasing for you. Find a place that fits well with your personality and gets you to enjoy your experience. Some of my favorite places in the Fall time are Morningstar Mill, Malcolmson Eco Park both in St Catharines. As well as Firemans Park in Niagara Falls, McFarland House in Niagara on the Lake, and Balls Falls in Vineland.  Morningstar Mills is a heritage site located at Decew Falls. This site features a beautiful working mill rebuilt in 1872 and is surrounded with trees and water. It is a good naturalistic place to go, especially in the fall time when there are numerous colors all around you and a beautifully built mill overlooking some wate...
