Tiny Tots Photo Shoot

If you happen to live in the Niagara Region and have a little one, you probably know about Mich and her magic shop full of props perfect for pictures. When it comes to newborn, sitter and cake smash sessions, she is my go-to lady for props and outfits and the only one I recommend to mom's who are looking for custom outfits for the wee ones.
Pairing up with some of the local vendors, she offers a wide variety of props and outfits, from floral bonnets, headbands, necklaces, rompers, printed tees and of course she is notorious for her custom tutus! As a local photographer  I have worked with Mich many, many times and love everything she puts out in her store.

So a few weeks ago I had this idea about show casing some of her products and my work with a special stylized photo shoot. Mich was on board and posted a casting call on her Facebook page. The response was overwhelming! We were looking for a few girls and a boy between the ages of 6 months and 2 years old and received over 200 messages. Our location, Morningstar Mill is a lovely spot popular for hiking and rich with historical buildings. If you haven't been, I highly encourage you to go. It was a beautiful day, not hot and not to cool. We arrive with a large box overflowing with outfits! Petti skirts and dresses, fedora hats and of course head bands! We photographed and dressed 5 models! Probably one of the most adorable sessions ever. And for being dressed, undressed and then dressed again for an hour, the kids did amazing! A few tears, which is to be expected working with small army of young kids, but all it all the kids did amazing! This is something Mich and I will defiantly be doing again next year. Hopefully making this an annual event.

While I love all the photos, there are some of my top favorites! A special thank you goes to Mich and all the moms who made this shoot possible!

Choosing Your Location, Fall Addition

It's that time of year again where the weather changes and vibrant hues surround us. So looking for a place to take photos may be different than a place in the summer or winter that you enjoyed. Choosing a location that best suits you and your comfort level is important. It is good to pick somewhere that will make your session memorable and pleasing for you. Find a place that fits well with your personality and gets you to enjoy your experience. Some of my favorite places in the Fall time are Morningstar Mill, Malcolmson Eco Park both in St Catharines. As well as Firemans Park in Niagara Falls, McFarland House in Niagara on the Lake, and Balls Falls in Vineland.  Morningstar Mills is a heritage site located at Decew Falls. This site features a beautiful working mill rebuilt in 1872 and is surrounded with trees and water. It is a good naturalistic place to go, especially in the fall time when there are numerous colors all around you and a beautifully built mill overlooking some wate...

Frequently Asked Questions about Boudoir.

Boudoir.  It's exciting It's inciting And it's confusing and intimating all at the same time!  If you are thinking about a boudoir I'm sure you have some pretty big questions on the top of your head. That's fine. I mean it's not everyday you are standing half naked in front of a perfect stranger.  So you have questions... I've got answers. Q: Boudoir. Pornography. What’s the difference? A: Well for starters Boudoir is suggestive, while porn is... well you know. And you don’t have to be complete nude or revel anything at all when it comes to boudoir photographs. One of the most important things about being sexy is being confident. If you feel that way wearing jeans, by all means, wear jeans! Or a button down men’s dress shirt. Sure why not? Classy, suggestive, and flirty. Q: Can you Photoshop my images? A: If you would like to have say, stretch marks, a scar, that unwanted, embarrassing tattoo from when you were 16...

My favorite photos

When you do something you love, it's not really work. We all have heard that saying. And for me it is really true. For those of you who have meet me in person, you how much I love what I do and deep my passion for photography runs. Most people when they get home from work, kick of their shoes, put their feet up and forget about the day they had at work for those few hours before they head back to the office. They turn on the T.V, read a book, spend some time with the family. Any thing to take their mind off work. NOT ME. Photography started as a hobby and I transitioned it into a business years ago. So for me, during my down, one of my favorite things to do is take off with my camera and work on a personal photography project. I have done lots of these in the past and am always finding something neat to work on. I believe it keeps me on my toes and gives me new and fresh ideas to introduce into the studio for my clients, One of my favorite projects was a few years back. I as ...
